Capoliveri is a lovely and old town, laid on a hill of 127 m ca. that from it's high oversees the beautiful Golfo Stella, bounded on the west side by Monte Capanne and by Corsica, far away but really clear in certain days, and on the south part by the islands of Pianosa and Montecristo, beautiful and off limits to all, and maybe just for this reason even more interesting and mysterious, that sends our minds a few centuries back thanks to Dumas's novels. Who visits Capoliveri will always remember the beautiful sunsets, that change colours with the seasons, red/orange in the summer and pink/violet in September/October. The entire town is made of alleys, called “Chiassi” in which you will find lots of small little shops and nightclubs where people go in the evenings to find a bit of cool after the hot day, a good meal or even just a pizza or an ice cream. In the beaches department Capoliveri has a wide variety: from the long sandy beaches of Lacona and Lido, ideal for families because of the very low water, that doesn't reach the 1 meter of depth for a long way, where kids can play, to the smaller beaches of Zuccale and Barabarca half sandy and half rocky. The beaches of Morcone and Pareti with mixed sand and emerald clear water and the Innamorata that, because of his proximity to the old mines, has black coloured sand and it's in the perfect position to reach the two little isles of the “Gemini”. In the east part of the town we find Naregno that is right in front of Porto Azzurro and is linked to it by a boat service at fixed hours during the day. The beaches of Straccoligno (equipped), Ferrato and Calanova all have a beautiful and refreshing pinewood behind them. Really appreciated is the shuttle service of Capoliveri that at fixed hour of the day takes you to and from the main beaches and gives you the possibility of moving without a car.
